The Full Story

The defining factor of these Goldenlines are the square, usually two-tone, indexes, which were an interesting and bold choice. This example also has a white outer track with black minute markings, which gives it a tuxedo-like feel. An additional flair of dressiness is added by the faceted and curved lugs, which allow the watch to wear beautifully on the wrist. The square indexes integrate well with the subtle recessed date window. Though this example does not boast a coveted "chronomètre" on the dial, many of its ilk did, it is clear in looking at the movement that Zodiac was committed to precision and functionality above all else. The standout is the engraved lion on the caseback, standing over a stylized sun – a truly noble and beautiful way to bring the watch together.

What we Love and What You Should Know

The caseback of this watch has been polished consistent with use, but the lion caseback engraving and the etchings remain quite visible. The case as a whole remains in fantastic condition. The sharp, square indexes match the handset perfectly, and the rich black dial has not lost any of its luster.
