The Full Story

In production since 1956, the Day-Date is one of the most recognizable Rolex watches ever made. With its elegant, simple dial layout and fluted bezel, the reference 1803 is a favorite of HODINKEE and of past U.S. Presidents (hence the “President’s bracelet"). In addition to being a cultural symbol of the watch world, this Day-Date is complemented by a period-correct riveted bracelet, making it even more desirable. Additionally, this example has a German date disc, which gives the watch a little something extra.

What we Love and What You Should Know

Overall this watch is in very good condition. The case has light signs of polishing, and there are some small scratches to the case band and lugs from normal wear. There is one noticeable scratch near the crown. There is a small imperfection on the dial at 10 o’clock, as well as a piece of debris stuck underneath the index at 8 o’clock. Additionally, many of the lume plots are bruised or missing. The bracelet is not original but is period-correct. Despite these minor imperfections, the riveted bracelet and stunning luminous dial make this watch very desirable.
