The Full Story

Tudor chronographs have always been more daring than their Rolex siblings, both in size and looks. This rule holds true with the reference 94300, which comes with a chunky 40mm case and a unique-looking dial with plenty of orange touches. Launched in 1976, the reference 94300 comes with an automatic chronograph movement, the workhorse Valjoux 7750, which also allows for a date display with quick-set adjustment. In short, you get rock solid Rolex engineering and funky looks in one great package.

What we Love and What You Should Know

The “Big Block” case has retained its impressive dimensions, despite a couple of previous polishings (there is still a mark on the lower right lug). As expected, there is some stretch to the accompanying Oyster bracelet; with its rivet links, it is also earlier than this Tudor. The watch comes with the correct screw-down pushers and a triple-lock crown from Rolex, one of the many parts signed and provided by the sister company. The exotic dial does not show any significant defect, while the original stainless-steel bezel shows its age, with some of the numerals having slightly faded, although it remains very legible. This is an attractive Tudor chronograph that you don't see come up as often.
